Description

This 1/2 day course provides the participants with an overview of modal correlation, focusing on the underlying theory and the practical know-how required for successful implementation. It presents the most up-to-date techniques including the use of advanced correlation tools. There will be demonstrations using real structures during the course.

Objectives

  • To give an overview of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) related to Modal Analysis, its possibilities and limitations.
  • To give an overview of Experimental Modal Analysis, its possibilities and limitations.
  • To give an overview of the challenges of bringing together FEA and EMA data.
  • To explain and demonstrate how to plan and execute a modal correlation program and to perform modal correlation on real structures.
  • To give an introduction to advanced correlation tools.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of and experience in vibration analysis, mathematics and physics.

Participants

For those who need to understand modal correlation and its applications because they are working with, or preparing to work with correlation projects. Modal Correlation is considered key to the understanding and handling of dynamic problems when both analytical and experimental modal methods are being used.
