Description
The course provides the participants with an in-depth knowledge of experimental modal analysis, focusing on the underlying theory and the practical know-how required for successful implementation. It presents the most up-to-date techniques including the use of advanced simulation tools. There will be demonstrations and hands-on exercises on real structures during the course.
Objectives
- To give an understanding of Modal Testing, its possibilities and limitations.
- To teach how to perform correct Signal and System analysis.
- To explain and demonstrate how to plan and execute a modal testing program and to perform modal analysis on real structures.
- To give an introduction to advanced simulation tools.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of and experience in vibration analysis, mathematics and physics. Basic knowledge of signal analysis and processing recommended.
Participants
For those who need to understand modal analysis and its applications because they are working with, or preparing to work with modal analysis applications, or because they specify experiments using this technique. Modal analysis is considered the single most important aid to the understanding and handling of dynamic problems within, e.g., product design, structural failure investigation and integrity monitoring.
